About Me
My name is Jake Wells, and I’m on a mission to tell the world about Christ.
Early on in 2022 I stared down reality head on, recognizing that if something didn’t change, I was going to end up in a deep hole, if not physically, then definitely spiritually. I was out of shape, drinking too much, eating terribly, always tired, and most importantly, I was struggling to find purpose.
I’m a husband, a father to two wild little boys, a follower of Christ, and a fitness fanatic. I’m not sure what clicked in February of 2022, but as the old cliche goes, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I challenged myself for 30 days to change my diet, signed up at a Crossfit gym, and dedicated time every single day to prayer, studying the bible, and time with God to just listen.
Over the course of 12 months, I dedicated myself to being better, the result was the God led creation of The Suffer Club. We’re exploring the intersection of faith & fitness by choosing each day to face physical suffering and challenge, as an act of worship.
In The Suffer Club, there are no rest days. Some days are for physical training, all days are for spiritual training. We do hard things, because every time we do, hard things get easier. And one day, life is going to put you face to face with something harder than all your training, but we’re going to be as prepared as we can, and in the ultimate act of worship, draw on Christ's strength just like all the times we practiced.
Buckle up, I’m not in charge, God is, and the most radical thing about God, is we don’t know his plan, but I’m going to show up for it, today, tomorrow and every day until he takes me home. I hope you’ll join me.
Our mission is simple:

Mathew 28: 18-20

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’”.
